Classic Ibiza Control and Monitoring

  • 3 Crew

  • 7 Stereo Mixes

  • 15 Mono Mixes

  • 64 Inputs

  • 30 Musicians

AE Technical Production recently provided essential audio control and monitoring support for several Classic Ibiza shows, a spectacular event that blends the iconic music of Ibiza with orchestral arrangements. This collaboration, facilitated on behalf of Pearce Hire, highlighted AE Technical’s ability to deliver top-tier audio solutions for large-scale events. The team deployed high-performance equipment, ensuring that every note was heard with crystal-clear clarity and precision.

Monitoring

At the heart of the audio monitoring setup, AE Technical used a Yamaha CL5 for the monitor mix. This choice allowed for a smooth transition from the main show files to the musicians and vocalists onstage. Additionally, the CL5 was fully utilized, with 15 mono and 7 stereo mixes, which fed 30 musicians. As a result, the monitoring system provided exceptional clarity and control, making it ideal for such a complex event.

Audio monitoring was handled with a combination of Audio-Technica 3000 Series wireless IEMs. Specifically, these provided 5 stereo and 6 mono mixes, with additional wired IEM packs for the rest of the performers. The DJ feed was delivered through two TW AUDiO M10 boxes, ensuring high-quality sound for the entire event.

FOH

For Front of House (FOH), AE Technical relied on the dLive S7000 digital mixing system by Allen & Heath. This state-of-the-art console provided outstanding sound quality and precise control over the event’s main mix. With more than 64 inputs required for the orchestra, the dLive’s large channel count gave engineer Ian Barfoot full control over the show. Thus, the system ensured that both the orchestral and electronic elements were perfectly balanced for the audience.

Moreover, Audio-Technica and Sennheiser RF systems were used for wireless microphone and instrument transmission. These systems offered reliable, interference-free performance across the expansive event space. Consequently, performers could move freely on stage while maintaining flawless audio communication.

The majority of the stage was equipped with DPA 4099 mics, which made up more than half the input count, alongside microphones from Lewitt, Audio-Technica, and SE Electronics. This extensive selection of microphones contributed to the rich and dynamic sound experience.

Finally, AE Technical would like to thank Steve Hicks and Pearce Hire for the opportunity to support this incredible show.
